Pikachu stolen the show at Pokémon and that is behind it

Most people hardly all know around 900 Pokémon (with developments) by name. But pretty much every person can do something with the squeaky yellow Pikachu. The mascot is by no means just known to gamers and manga fans - and for everyone who loves the pocket monsters, it is a matter of course for the brand. Some of you should surprise that this role was initially not intended for Pikachu.

Wahl only fell on Pikachu late

It is about: As reported by twinfinite.net, it was only determined quite late in the development process of the original Pokémon editions that Pikachu should represent the brand. At first, Piepi was actually intended for the job, i.e. the first level of development from PII that can develop into Pixie.

DRONE CATCHES PIKACHU AT ABANDONED FIELD!! (ASH KETCHUM THREW POKEBALL!!) In the first Pokémon-Manga, the main character actually started with both pocket monsters and Piepi could even talk, as TwinFinite reveals. So it played a fairly important role in this context.

More from the Pokémon universe:

Then why the move to Pikachu? "Let's go beep" or "master detective Piepi" - why did it never happen? According to TwinFinite, Game Freak had concerns that the fluffy pink Pokémon Piepi would only address girls while the development team believed that Pikachu would like every1. So the job ultimately went to the yellow pocket monster.

Are you satisfied with this choice or which Pokémon would be more suitable for your opinion to represent the brand?
